RoyalUr has a new soundtrack!

The sounds of ancient Mesopotamia are finally reaching our ears!

Olli Oja has composed a new soundtrack for RoyalUr in the style of ancient Mesopotamia. It goes by the name Quest for the Royal Game.

I made a new music video to mark the occasion!

Control the music in-game 🎸

When you play the game and score or capture a piece, our new soundtrack will begin. After it starts, you should see a little music pop-up at the top of your screen. If you click that pop-up, a bigger set of controls for the music will open.

You can use these controls to play, pause, or stop the music. Stopping the music will disable it until you reload the page. If you would like to stop the music for good, you can also click the settings button and set your music volume to zero.

Want the music pop-up to go away? You can do that too, while still keeping the music playing. Open your game preferences and enable "Hide music controls".

Watch replays of your games 🎬

Game review has gotten another upgrade. You can now watch dramatic replays of your game from the game review page. This will animate through your entire game, but you can also use the space and arrow keys to pause and navigate back and forth.

In fact, the game replays are what we used to make our new music video for Quest for the Royal Game! I'm quite proud of how it turned out.

In the community spirit, Raph has made a feedback form so we can run events that you would like to participate in. Therefore, it would be very helpful if you could fill out Raph's feedback form so we can get a better idea of what events to run. Thank you 😊
